If Romney Wins the Free Phones Must be Given to the 1%
Posted by Thought Criminal on Fri, Sep 28, 2012, at 10:49 AM:

Wheels, It's amazing to me that such a warm an intelligent lady such as she, doesn't have a job.

But I'm sure her job prospects will pick up after more people watch that video and sees that she has a phone so they can call her for interviews.

You Obama haters need to check the facts and you will see this program was started by Bush in 2008.

In fact it was originally started by Reagan.

A little sensitive and over-reactive aren't you Howdy? She is the one who said Obama gave her a free cell phone, not Wheels or I.

And I don't hate Obama, but I do hate his socialist/fascist political policies.

Here, listen to the Obama kids sing again and chill a bit. If he gets elected again, this song will probably be mandatory in all government schools. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdPSqL9_m...

Lifeline, the programme used to fund this programme, was started in the 1980s, but it was designed to reduce phone service costs to low income and rural phone users. It did not give away free cell phones.

The free cell phone aspect of the programme was added when Tracfone, one of the participating companies, instituted a free phone programme as part of their service package in 2009. That year enrollment in the programme, which had held steady at about 7 million persons, rose by about 25% to 8.6 million. The cost of the programme rose proportionate to the increase in participation, to about $1 billion in 2009.

The FCC expects the 2011 cost of the programme to be $2.1 billion, and is expected to rise to $3.3 billion by 2014.

Fraud is cited as the primary reason for the rising costs of the programme.

Wheels, regarding the 'other' thread, it's just that some people only want to hear or read so much. Then, they close their ears or eyes. But those same people go around implying that others aren't knowledgeable or active enough. They talk about not bullying others, then look down their noses and make snide remarks when someone give their opinion. It's rather mind boggling.

If I disagree about or have a different understanding of a topic, I'm still open to discourse even if I get upset by it. Even if that topic happens to be my personally held beliefs or my debate skills or lack there of. That's just me.

Interesting - you tried to blame it on Bush then thought you'd better give us the real information. Why even mention Bush???

Howdy - this lady is your friend. She's right up the "entitlement" mindset you have - "where's mine".

PS - How are your sons doing?

For some reason here - many parallels (along with a couple of perpendiculars) between this woman and Eddie Murphy's Ice Cream skit were drawn. At least Eddie Murphy was funny - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P47GukSWE... **Caution - explicit language, as is typical with most of Mr. Murphy's material from that era**

A very interesting video you may have seen from the 2008 election. These people just voted for Obama and listen to their answers at the voting poll when asked a few simple questions. The video is titled "How Obama Got Elected". Unbelievable:

Wheels, as Granny said, when talk runs it's course, there's nothing left to be said.

I believe you dun runned Howdy off! -- Posted by Have_Wheels_Will_Travel on Tue, Oct 9, 2012, at 8:27 AM

He'll be back either has howdy or something else. My intention isn't to run him off - he's got some serious 'splainin to do about whether or not he has boys. That, and calling a disabled veteran an idiot - just because he doesn't support Obama? How far in the tank are some of these people?

The best part of the video I posted above is you can get a real look into people that support Obama. They don't know anything about issues, they don't know any of the people running except Obama and they attribute comments - anything dumb - to Obama's opponents when Obama and Biden said them. It was a good video. I think a number of the people in that video are posting here. Completely uninformed and could care less. They are the people that are influenced by 30 second campaign commercials.

I heard on the radio this morning that Jay Nixon has a commercial with eerie music that points out that his opponent - Dave Spence - was on a bank board and got a loan for his house at the lake.

Seriously??? This is worthy of an attack? How stupid would he be to on a bank board and get a loan from another bank? I know a number of business people on bank boards that get loans from the bank they serve on the board.

Spence has pointed out that there's nothing illegal or unethical. My point - many people will watch that and go "OMG! These rich evil business people" and vote for Nixon.

Nixon didn't have to do that. He is popular and the state is doing much better than liberal states re: debt and unemployment. I can't believe he feels he has to appeal to the weak, uninformed easily-scared voter. Problem is there are too many of those voters out there.

I gotta tell you - I admire the OW's tenacity and blind support. I've never worshipped or felt that much need to be loyal and admiring to any politician. All I want is for them to get government (taxes, regulation and debt) out of my life. I don't care if a candidate is rich, Harvard or HS educated, or black, white, latino - you name it.

I think their problem is Obama is being outed for what we've been saying for 5 years. He has zero serious experience to prepare him for the job he was elected to. He is incredibly thin-skinned and not a very smart person. He must use a teleprompter to get a slick message across and doesn't deal in any details. He literally doesn't know what he's doing and a number of his staff are now publicly pointing that out. It's a mess in the WH. How do you defend the defenseless? It would wear me out.
