The Mercury Seven Astronauts the best of the best. These men pushed the envelope no doubt they are what really defines an american hero. I remember those days very well it made every american so proud. These men proved that america can do anything when we set our minds to it.

Yes indeed swampeastmissouri, those brave men sat on top a roman candle and let it blast them off into space. Yep, that took some real intestinal fortitude by God. Then, back through our atmosphere in hopes of not burning up. Yes they were and still are the best of the best.

I remember models of those being coin banks.
It's been a long time since I was in Huntsville but I'm thinking they have some of those capsules on display.
