Speak Out: Are you a Neo-Con??

Posted by Egotistical_Bigot on Tue, Sep 22, 2009, at 9:00 AM:

You Might Be a Neocon If¡

¡ you believe any of the following: Barack Obama is (a) a socialist; (b) a Muslim; (c) the illegitimate son of Malcolm X; (d) the illegitimate son of Uncle Ben.

¡ you think Obama was a domestic terrorist who helped Bill Ayers plant bombs in the Pentagon; that he doesn¡¯t have a legal birth certificate proving he¡¯s an American citizen; and that his middle name indicates anything more than sheer coincidence.

¡ You believe President Obama¡¯s first act will be to make the ¡®nation¡¯ of Africa our 51st state and send every resident a free Cadillac.

¡ you heard Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 and don¡¯t think it was a state then, thereby making it illegal for him to be president, but are too lazy to look it up before you forward the email.

¡ you believe Sarah Palin is really intelligent and informed and that the reason most of America thinks otherwise is due to the liberal media and their evil ¡®gotcha¡¯ questions.

¡ you think an unwed teenage girl¡¯s pregnancy is a sign of the moral failings of permissive secular parents and liberalism in general, except for 17-year-old Bristol Palin.

¡ you believe Sarah Palin is (a) a real feminist; (b) a true populist; (c) a ¡®good ole gal just like me!¡¯; (d) winking at you seductively through the TV.

¡ you think it was fine for the Big Media to criticize every detail of Hillary Clinton¡¯s campaign and excoriate her for her laugh, her clothes, her personal taste, or minor mistakes, yet Katie Couric asking Sarah Palin to name what newspapers and magazines she reads ¡®every day¡¯ is an outrageous and out of bounds ¡®gotcha¡¯ question.

¡ you thought John Kerry¡¯s record of military heroism didn¡¯t entitle him to be president, but John McCain¡¯s did.

¡ you believe that, despite everything, this remains a ¡®center-right¡¯ nation.

¡ you think any of the following windbags are still politically relevant: (a) Rush Limbaugh; (b) Bill O¡¯Reilly; (c) Sean Hannity; (d) Michael Savage; (e) Glenn Beck; (f) John McCain¡¯s brother Joe.

¡ you actually believe that Big Media corporations are owned by flaming liberals, except Fox News.

¡ you think Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch is ¡®too liberal¡¯ because he once held a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton and employs Alan Colmes.

¡ you believe any of the following are real-live conservative intellectuals: (a) Bill Kristol; (b) Pat Buchanan; (c) Dinesh D¡¯Souza; (d) Joe the Plumber.

¡ you think prayer in school is more important than a good education in school.

¡ you believe that courts should not ¡®make law¡¯ but go by a strict interpretation of the Constitution, except in the case of Bush v. Gore, Terry Schiavo, and keeping those designated as ¡®terrorists¡¯ by the president in prison without due process.

¡ you think Swift Boater Jerome Corsi is a great investigative journalist.

¡ you think Michael Moore is a communist dedicated to overthrowing the country¡¯s health care system and forcing you to go to a government doctor for free.

¡ you¡¯ve never read anything by Karl Marx other than a quote or two, yet consider yourself an expert on what is Marxist.

¡ you believe liberals and/or Democrats are all (a) atheists (b) liars (c) commies (d) America-haters (e) arugula eaters (f) always sitting around trying to think up ways to take away your guns.

¡ you think anyone who disagrees with you is unpatriotic, even if it¡¯s an old woman in a wheelchair yelling at you for parking in the Handicapped space.

¡ you think Handicapped parking spaces are liberal commie plots to take away our freedoms.

¡ you believe wearing a flag pin is more important than living up to the Constitutional law of the land.

¡ you think the Constitution was signed by men who were all devout Christians and the nation was founded with a Christian rather than secular government.

¡ you¡¯ve ever rendered a strong opinion on any book, magazine article, website, film, TV show or play you¡¯ve never actually read or seen.

¡ you think waterboarding is no different than a fraternity prank.

¡ you think there was actually a War on Christmas outside of Bill O¡¯Reilly¡¯s head.

¡ you think any government program that helps ordinary people is horrible socialism, but when our tax money is spent to pay contractors for shoddy work and overcharges, that¡¯s free market capitalism at work.

¡ you think questions surrounding the events of 9/11 are ridiculous, but firmly believe that the Clintons had something to do with the death of Vince Foster and should be subject to further investigation.

¡ you think Bush ignoring the August 6, 2001 CIA brief entitled ¡°Bin Laden Determined to Strike in United States¡± was understandable, since he was on vacation, but are convinced that 9/11 happened because Bill Clinton ignored Al-Qaeda during his presidency.

¡ you think Osama bin Laden is a lying terrorist sack of crap, yet was telling the truth when said he wanted John Kerry as president in 2004, right before Election Day.

¡ you still believe Bush and Cheney are moral men with your best interests at heart.

¡ you don¡¯t want to pay a dime for national health care, yet expect a taxpayer-funded emergency room to treat you immediately after you¡¯ve had an accident.

.. you still think Bush is right even when he¡¯s proven wrong, again and again.

¡ you think every problem America has can be traced to liberals and/or Democrats.

¡ you¡¯ve ever called anyone a ¡®pinko¡¯ or ¡®commie,¡¯ especially someone who demonstrably isn¡¯t either.

¡you don¡¯t know the difference between socialism and communism and you don¡¯t really care either.

¡ you think a) Saddam Hussein had WMD and hid them somewhere outside of the country right before the US invaded, or b) you think we found WMD in Iraq.

¡ you think former CIA covert agent Valerie Plame ¡®deserved¡¯ to be outed because her husband is a ¡®traitor¡¯ who revealed the truth about Bush¡¯s phony claims that Iraq tried to buy Niger uranium.

¡ you think junkies should spend long sentences in jail but Rush Limbaugh should be forgiven for his human frailty.

¡ you think Ann Coulter is hilariously funny.

¡ you think talk show blabber Dennis Prager is either a religious expert, conservative intellectual, political philosopher, entirely sane, or all four.

¨C you are a Christian who experiences temporary blindness whenever you read the Sermon on the Mount.

¡ you think every word in the Bible was written by God in English, even the letters to the Greeks by Paul.

¡ you are waiting for Armageddon and believe you will be taken up into heaven during ¡®The Rapture,¡¯ even though you lie to your customers, sell products that are made by slave labor overseas, or own a private mercenary company that murders people in other countries.

¡ you think individual people need strong laws and strict enforcement to keep them in line, but corporations should be able to make their own rules without government interference.

¡ you think no-bid contracts are a smart way for the government to do business.

¡ you think Richard Nixon was brought down by the ¡®liberal media.¡¯

¡ you think ¡®habeas corpus¡¯ has something to do with hamsters, so what¡¯s the big deal?

¡ you hate the theory of evolution even though you¡¯ve never read it. You also hate Charles Darwin without knowing anything about him, and point him out as the perfect example of a ¡®know-nothing¡¯ American liberal. (He was actually British.)

¡ you¡¯ve ever read a rant by Michelle Malkin without laughing out loud at its sheer rancorous stupidity.

¡ you think Charles Krauthammer is sane.

¡ you still think Karl Rove is a great man.

¡ you believe might makes right since the Surge is working and the Afghanis just love us.

.. you watch ¡°24¡å and believe if we only had a guy like the fictional Jack Bauer in charge of our intelligence operations, we could lick the terrorists in a month or two.

¡ you are a self-hating closeted gay male Republican politician.

LOL!!! THAT LAST ONE'S a Woot!

  • Meg, How many of the above does a person have to belive to be a "Neo-con"? 1, 1-5, most, or all?

I'm just trying to find my place.

  • Funny, I always was under the impression that I was conservative on some issues and liberal on others.

But, I guess I'm a "Neo-con" according to Meg. So does this mean I'm now "Evil" also?

-- Posted by Airborne 95B on Wed, Sep 23, 2009, at 7:34 AM
  • No, airborne, just means you're a normal human being who can see and enjoy all the colors, hear all the notes, and smell all the flowers.

Meg, on the other hand, sees only one color, hears only one note, and can only smell the sewer pipe.

    Let us pity him.

Why so bitter? Ohh yeah, forgot. You're siding with the whinging doom and gloomers now.

    Soyager..give up yet?

    -- Posted by Egotistical_Bigot on Wed, Sep 23, 2009, at 5:15 PM
  • Hey, Spank, thanks for a Merry laugh before bedtime! Weasel of odd, indeed!

Poor ole Ego, et. al., has had more incarnations than most folks can remember. A real split personality. Now why do you suppose that is?

-- Posted by voyager on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 12:06 AM
  • Spank, please tell me it isn't so! And he was so critical of poor ole Rushbo.

-- Posted by voyager on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 8:47 AM
  • Spank,

No offense but why is your ire only with Megalo?? There are many posters that can only post attacks. Whether it be on President Obama, ACORN, Megalo or Liberals. Don't see you bothered with their constant bashing. Is it only because you agree with them?? Ignore Megs posts if they bother you. Don't go into a thread created by him. Don't respond to him. And if his personal attacks on others has bothered you, why have you sunk to personal attacks on him. Not his stance on an issue but personal ie. 'off his meds'. So below your normal level of posting.

I am not saying I agree with everything Megalo posts or even the direction and method of his arguements, but there are far more negative posters then just him.

Again, no offense is intended Spank. I have always found you level headed even when we don't agree on an issue. You have gotten me to relook at some of my own stances, maybe not change it, but look at it.

Well, not that it really matters in the scheme of things, just my thoughts. Hope you get to feeling better.

  • Pups,

You cannot seriously compare Meglo, Jerry, Doctor, Aino et al with ANY other persona on any of these sites.

    -- Posted by D'oh on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 9:52 AM
  • BN1401,

I can with respect to 'one note' posters. And sorry, but he isn't the only 'reincarnated' poster on here. Some may have taken longer to come back after being banned, but they are back. And up to the same tricks that got them banned in the first place.

Again, not saying I agree with Megalo's style, posts, or methods. Just pointing out he is not a singularity on here.

Maybe I should take the advise you gave a while back and just step away from the keyboard.

-- Posted by Pups on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 10:12 AM
  • Listen up, y'all, Meglo, or whichever incarnation he choose to use, is not the issue. Trying to censor him or blot him out is!

He is the buffoon, the object of humor on these threads. No one should take him seriously.

Censorship is serious and should be opposed with all your vigor.

I enjoy reading Meglo. Always good for a hearty laugh. He is a wonderful barometer of the depth to which stupidity can fall.

Because you disagree with him is reassurance that you have at least retained a measure of sanity in defense from his confused and irrational world.

Come now and let us (faintly)praise him.

-- Posted by voyager on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 11:41 AM
  • Pups,

Always problems with written communication absent the personal inflections et cetera. By "you", I did not mean you as in Pups, but as in general. Kind of like what "is" is.

To make is clearer, it is my opinion considering everything, not just being banned, Meglo is a unique persona in his approach to posting which has often included attacking those such as Spank who have defended him. His single minded focus and negativity set him apart in my mind.

I make no secret that I have posted under numerous different names/avatars though I have never been banned and I really don't see anything wrong with that as long as one is not acting as a provocateur or bolstering their own position under such cover while using different "identities".

I too have defended Meglo in the past only to be hammered again and again, but in times gone by, he had periods in which he made some very good points and it is obvious that he is an intelligent man. There use to be a mix, but now all I see are rants and attacks, so the persona I now see is much different than one of days gone by. Of course this may all be part of Meglo's "grand plan" and we have been taken in.

Perhaps, it is just me and after all it is just an opinion of one person and I have been off the mark before; course not lately...

    -- Posted by D'oh on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 11:55 AM
  • To one and all, I have only one screen name, Voyager, from the very first, to the present, and for the future. Don't see the need of any more.

First, its too complicated to keep up with the various personas (I'm lazy).

Second, under any other name I'm of the same opinion still. Most everyone would discovered it sooner or later so why bother (I'm even lazier).

-- Posted by voyager on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 12:34 PM
  • Voyager,

I have found it to be more interesting to change names/avatars from time to time. There are several people on here of like mind who will support or attack someone based on past relationships/exchanges. I believe I get more intellectual honesty from people if I don't have a long history with them.

I have never changed positions or my writing style and more often than not most people don't make the connection.

I have long since stopped trying to keep up with other people who also change, but there are those who stand out so that they are truly unmistakable.

I am probably pretty close to the point where I need to change again.

    -- Posted by D'oh on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 12:54 PM
  • BN1401,

I for one hope that I haven't treated/responded to you differently under your different names/avitars. I do try to read the post not the poster, but not always sucessful. And agree that what is comprehended by the reader is not always what the poster intended.

I have been told that even if I changed my name, my posting style would give me away. And I have never understood attacking those that defend you, but I'm not in their head, only my own. Which can be a very scary place sometimes. :) And I admittedly sometimes jump to the wrong conclusion about what someone has said.

    I do appreciate the clairification.

  • This is a really great homage and all, but riddle me this...

Can anyone recall what I've specifically done to Spank the Tanks to bring this all about. I've been pondering this for a couple of days now.

And nice try Soyager, I also know your "grand scheme" that is to try and silence all those opposed against the republiconic neo-con fascist agenda. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. Geez...*rolling eyes* talk about not living in reality.

    BN1401

Time after time you have SAID we know each other...blah blah blah...back in my funeral days....blah blah blah....blah blah. Yet when I ask you to pin point it, you come up short. You're NO friend or aqaintance of mine. None of my friends would be acting like a weirdo stalker. Instead, they'd be calling me up, and fessing up.

All in all, yeah...I have realized one thing "IN THE GRAND SCHEME" of things. When I "experimented" with placating with the republiconic/neo-cons (purposefully) on several issue, everything was all hunky dory. Funny, the minute I returned to (out of their comfort zone) thinking, they ALL got bent out of shape again.

Yes....The Meg has pulled a fast one. But there was only one way to flush a rooster out of then hen house. ;o) You've been out foxed!

    LOL! Gotcha!

Paranoid? Nah, nobody really takes you seriously. You hoist yourself on your own petard all too often.

  • Creepy definately when someone claims they knew you real well, all chum buddies and what not. Yet when the person is called out, you don't even receive a call from them to ask what's the deal. REAL creepy. Stalker creepy. I'm calling you out BN1401. I'm tired of the insinuations. Obviously you know how to contact me. So email me or something.

  • Had a great Aunt who told me once the secret of a long and interesting life:

"Take frivolous things seriously and serious things frivolously.

    "Never suffer fools gladly.

"Watch your banker like a hawk.

"Avoid ever having anything to do with a lawyer.

"Never vote for a damned Democrat.

    "Watch out for good girls."

All of which I have come to see the wisdom, except perhaps the last. I've always found the not so good girl much more interesting and exciting, certainly far more honest. Fortunately, to the extent of not having lawyers messing up things.

-- Posted by voyager on Thu, Sep 24, 2009, at 11:25 PM
  • voyager,

Ummmm then you are doing all on the list. She was warning you about the good girls not really being good girls or the best for you.

Though I will only disagree with #5, but hey we all can't be perfect. ;)

  • I tried to avoid this thread because I've never understood what a neo-con was. I figured it was kind of a Schmoo thing, this imaginary creature under a liberals bed that they can be afraid of; because they want you to be afraid of things. But now I'm wondering if neo is neo anymore. Isn't it getting kind of non-neo or un-neo or nadda-neo - whatever neo gets when it passes puberty. To me neo-con is more descriptive of all the politicians who have or about to or should be in jail. Like most of Illinois' governors or half Chicago's aldermen - you know, that fertile ground of corrupt politicians that has spawned our new national leadership. Not that it doesn't fit right in with the bribe taking, tax avoiding, power grabbing crop of crooks that are already there. Say goodbye to neo-con and let me introduce you to neo neo-con. Vote the crooks out - all of them.

  • You know Blog, you may have really hit on something. Grandmother would have called it Spring Housecleaning. Sweep the trash out. Neo neo-con, trouble is, won't be understood by some who have the Liberal idee fixe. But that is their problem.

Yea, Pups, some others had a problem with that at the time. I remember that day in April 1945 when FDR died. Strangely, she said the country would be alright because "Harry was in charge." She liked him when lots of others were accusing him of being a little man trying to fill big shoes. She said his biggest problem would be some of the Democrats around him. Turns out she was right.
