Speak Out: From Saturday's AP Poll...

Posted by voyager on Mon, May 17, 2010, at 3:01 PM:

So the poll numbers will continue shifting until November 2, the only poll that counts.

  • THe AP/GfK poll is a poll of adults nationwide, and shows the Democrats leading by 4%. The latest NBC news poll of registered voters, and the Gallup poll of registered voters both show a tie.

The Fox News poll of registered voters shows the Republicans with a 2% lead, while the Resurgent Republic poll of likely voters has the Republicans with a 4% advantage. The Resurgent Republic Poll is a month old, but it is the most current poll of likely voters posted.

Most of these are close to, if not within, the margin of error, so it safe to say at this point that it close, in any case.

  • After stuffing Obamacare down our throat, the demos should be loosing to almost anybody by double digits.

But I suppose what they depended on, the dumbarse voters in this country would forget by November, is working. So much for stuffing it up theirs.

  • Wheels,

Maybe you are right, maybe America is made up of a bunch of "dumbarse" voters as you put it and you are the bright shining light that all us moths should be attracted to. Or maybe you've spent the last year tilting at windmills because you have surrounded yourself with those who so thoroughly fear change that they see giants in everything unfamiliar.

As you wax so poetically, why not get your head out of yours.

When congress and obama go against the wishes of the voters who were overwhelming against this hurriedly pushed through fiasco that we cannot afford, then they all deserve to be thrown out of office, at the polls of course.

Dades while you may not possess the intelligence to see what is going on in the world around you and then process the information, some of us can see what is happening in places like Greece. Which of course we are generously bailing out to the tune of some 58 billion dollars at the last report I heard. Why does the looney left insist on pushing us further in that diretion when it is proven time and again that it does not work? Find the link James Nall furnished today and read it. Perhaps you will pick up something.

Someone mentioned recently that we are already a Socialist state and cannot turn back. We will when the money dries up and there is no one out there to bail us out. Count on it.

Next tell me we are too big to fail.

  • Spaniard, was that poll broken down into voting groups ... like party affiliation?

    Rasmussen:

While solid majorities of Democrats and Republicans support their own party, the plurality (42%) of voters not affiliated with either major party now prefer the Republican candidate, while 24% like the Democrat. These findings have remained fairly consistent for months now.

Thirty percent (30%) of U.S. Voters now say the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. That's the lowest level of confidence measured in nearly two months.

Following the passage of the health care bill in late March, optimism in the nation's current course jumped nine points to 35%, the highest level measured since early September 2009. Since then, optimism in the nation's current course has steadily declined.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of Democrats say the country is heading in the right direction, while 36% say it's not. An overwhelming majority (90%) of Republicans and 70% of voters not affiliated with either major political party continue to think the nation is heading down the wrong track. These findings have changed very little for several weeks now.

Sixty-four percent (64%) of all voters now say the nation is heading down the wrong track, the highest level of pessimism measured since the week prior to the passage of healthcare reform in late March.

  • Van,

Now that was the most brilliant remark I ever never heard. Don't mind me. A bit too much adult beverages this evening.

-- Posted by voyager on Mon, May 17, 2010, at 9:38 PM
  • Darn - you wouldn't think a president who has no experience as a leader (and no real job experience either)would be able to get all the things done he has been able to get done (in a year & a half, no less) - especially with that talented party of "NO" shouting so loudly...must be truly disappointing for them. sigh...

And I hate to hear all the crying from folks here.

  • Hey warb - whatever!

    -- Posted by concerned4all on Mon, May 17, 2010, at 10:53 PM
  • Warb - you are showing you are weak again! Have you ever been a man?

    -- Posted by concerned4all on Mon, May 17, 2010, at 11:02 PM
  • Warb - very weak. Must make you "feel" like a man to say those things. I guess if that's the only way...have your fun.

    -- Posted by concerned4all on Mon, May 17, 2010, at 11:14 PM
  • Nite - cry baby...try being a man next time.

    -- Posted by concerned4all on Mon, May 17, 2010, at 11:24 PM
  • Someone didn't bother to read the Rasmussen poll results about the percentage of voters who think our country is heading in the wrong direction? That in itself might indicate how people feel about a president who has been 'able to get all the things done' .... An awful lot of people seem to be sort of wishing our sitting president wasn't so inclined to 'get things done.'

It's pretty easy to get many things done, if one doesn't much care whether or not those things are done right.

  • I think the question to ask is, will the throw the bums out movement affect which party the most.

Know anyone that votes the polls?

-- Posted by Old John on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 12:35 AM
  • Change happens and folks, you don't like it. It's expected. President Obama knew he would lose voters after he took some things off the shelf and he pushed through with what he sees as the right way to go for the country - so you disagree. Change.

    -- Posted by concerned4all on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 7:06 AM
  • All this change talk. We got our hope and change and I sure hope we make another change in November.

Obama reminds me of an inexperienced driver... the car starts to wander off the roadway and he overcorrects, winding upside down in a terrible wreck.

    -- Posted by Have_Wheels_Will_Travel on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 10:58 AM
  • Blah, blah, blah as usual...and expected from the party of losers (and I'm not talking about elections). I'm sure there will be lost seats - some sacrifices were made to move the country out of the Bush mess. Whine some more folks - you are experts.

    -- Posted by concerned4all on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 11:31 AM
  • Today is primary day in several places thoughout the country. This will be a poll that counts. Tomorrow we will analyze the results about which no one will agree.

-- Posted by voyager on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 12:26 PM
  • I wouldn't hold my breath on that one there hoss.

-- Posted by mynameismud on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 1:34 PM
  • I can write a poll and make it say anything I want to by the wording of the questions and the demagraphics that I call. Don't think the AP is all that impartial with this one here.

-- Posted by mynameismud on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 1:43 PM
  • Caddyman is having delusions of grandeur and being a practitioner of wishful thinking.

Will have to give him credit however. He remains faithful to the man who is wrecking the country and its economy.

He does not seem to realize the horrible disaster awaiting us which will take a herculean effort to correct compared to the small little "mess of George Bush's."

Obama will be a one termer. The November 2010 election will be all important to remove his Dim majority and stop him cold in his tracks.

  • Spaniard:

Sounds like Warbler is rubber stamping Obama's policies. Nice analizing, there.

That may have been a SAAB. Bout the same thing though. ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺

  • Vulcan,

I think it may be happening. I just heard he slipped behind.

    -- Posted by Have_Wheels_Will_Travel on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 8:56 PM
  • I will feel a sense of relief and release after November 2. Until then nothing is certain although we may postulate trends and possible outcomes.

-- Posted by voyager on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 11:18 PM
  • Let us hope you are right, Warbler.

-- Posted by voyager on Tue, May 18, 2010, at 11:31 PM
  • What you smoking this morning Caddy?

Your ringleader, I mean president, isn't crowing too loudly about his success at the recent polls.
