A few Keystone XL and Nord Strom 2 facts...
The Keystone pipeline is in operation. Keystone XL is only about 8% complete and is facing lawsuits on the environment and encroachment on tribal lands. It transits the Oglala aquifer which is also an environmental issue.
The Nord Strom 1 pipeline is in operation now and has been for years. The Nord Strom 2 line is about 95% complete. Germany wants it and understands the risk of relying on Russian gas. If Russia were to cause problems, they could boycott Russian gas and start using LNG ships.
Furthermore holding the XL in abeyance does not have any effect on our fuel supply.
As for jobs lost...
Per the Keystone XL web site they recently completed construction at our Bindloss Pump Station in Alberta. Approximately 90 workers committed more than 59,500 hours in 2020 to complete this project.We recently completed Station in Alberta. That was in Canada.
In the US in winter of 2020 there were 5 pump stations under construction in Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska…
Haakon County -- Pump station — construction
Jones County -- Pump station — construction
Tripp County -- Pump station – construction
Fallon County -- Pump station — construction
Jefferson County -- Pump station — construction
Even if each one employed 90 people at the same time (which is unlikely as normally crews rotate from site to site) that would be less than 500 people. The other aspect is that construction workers travel from job to job, particularly in remote areas, so it is highly likely that the Keystone XL workers are already in other jobs.

On being Socialist, I think if you support them and their platform, you are one.
So far as Mister being used, I don't think it is out of respect on Lettau's part.
I will use a person's name if I feel we have reached a point where we know one another reasonably well unless they have asked to be addressed otherwise. With a lady, I most often use the Ms. version if, I do not know their married status. But it does maybe vary with me. I refuse to use the Mister or Mr. On people I have little or no respect for. I would be a hypocrite to call Obama Mr. as I have no respect for him whatsoever. The office he lied to attain yes, the man in the respect area no.
I do not hold all Democrats in contempt just those I feel deserve it. I have said before, I think Jimmy Carter was a very honest person, just not smart enough to be President. Our current President I do not believe is either, smart enough or honest enough to be President and I didn't have nearly that much respect for Hillary Clinton, so what is or was the choice. I didn't or don't see Trump as ever being a personal friend type but felt as if he had the knowledge to run the United States. Nor did I agree with Trump's position on the stimulous giveaways. Biden is out of control here.
We either start going on pay as you go program and we reject Socialism/Communism or we perish as a country and become the Venezuela of North America. Remember Obama's hugging on Hugo Chavez?

Someone sent me a LITTLE JOHNNY story. I thought it fits the current situation.....
LITTLE JOHNNY STRIKES AGAIN!!
The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were all very excited.
Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on salesmanship.
Little Sally led off.
“I sold Girl Scout cookies and I made $30” she said proudly, “my sales approach was to appeal to the customer’s civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success.”
“Very good”, said the teacher.
Little Debbie was next.
“I sold magazines” she said, “I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events.”
“Very good, Debbie”, said the teacher.
Eventually, it was Little Johnny’s turn. The teacher held her breath.
Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher’s desk.
“$2,467”, he said.
“$2,467!” cried the teacher, “What in the world were you selling?”
Toothbrushes”, said Little Johnny.
“Toothbrushes”, echoed the teacher, “How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?”
“I found the busiest corner in town,” said Little Johnny, “I set up a Dip & Chip stand and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample.” They all said the same thing, “Hey, this tastes like doggie doo!”
Then I would say, “It is doggie doo, Wanna buy a toothbrush?
I used the President Biden method of giving you some doggie doo, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it’s free and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth.”
Little Johnny got five stars for his assignment.
