Speak Out: 3/5/18

Wise up

Politicians need to wise up. 18-year-olds can vote this year. 17-year-olds can vote next year. And the current 16-year-olds will vote in the next presidential election. So maybe they shouldn’t be ignored.

Socialism in action

Socialism at the national level is consistently denounced by Cape’s movers and shakers, yet, with the explosion of CIDs and similar measures whereby taxpayers subsidize private concerns, socialism seems to be doing quite well at the local level.

Dem strategy

Democrats once again played the fool as they released their talking points via the minority members’ House Intel Committee. When will Democrats learn to at least give the appearance of sound decision making with a coherent strategy?

Wasteful spending

I have a question for the Bollinger County Commissioners. You keep saying you don’t have money to fix our awful roads and bridges but yet you recently bought two new graders and are in discussions with Nobbe on buying a tractor. Where is all this money coming from? And while we’re at it, where are you going to find competent people to run them? You have already wasted so much money and now you are blowing more. What in the world is wrong with you?

Use logic

As I read articles where students are demanding stiffer regulations on guns along with some major retailers raising the age that individuals can purchase guns to 21, I have to wonder if the U.S. government is going to raise the age of when a person must register for the military? If individuals are not capable of purchasing guns at 18 years of age, that must mean they are not mature enough to use guns. If that logic is used, then the age to register needs to be raised to 21. I know many 18-year-olds who have more common sense than some adults. Unfortunately, we can’t regulate sanity or maturity. Yes, we can improve our laws and enforce laws already on the books, but short of making everyone going into a school, or any public place for that matter, go through metal detectors, we will not stop a crazy person hell-bent on causing destruction.

Profanity

Profanity is the effort of a feeble mind trying to express itself.

Wise up: Today's 18 and over can vote this Nov. and the next Presidential election - who has the most votes?

Socialism in action: Welfare checks, unemployment checks, food stamps, and other free stuff is Socialism in action. CIDs are for economic development for people willing to work and be productive citizens.

Dem strategy: The Democratic memo on FISA abuses actually backs up the Republican memo. Let's get the report from the FISA judges as to their opinions - Americans want to know.

Wasteful spending: To fix roads don't you need road graders and tractors.

Use logic: True, the only thing you left out is you can now vote at 18 or should it be changed to 21.

Profanity: Then there are a lot of feeble minds expressing themselves.

And that's the way it should be according to Schaefer's Word....Monday March 5, 2018.

  • Wise up...our youth and kids are out future , why did Washington DC just throw another $1 trillion dollars on their back for them to pay off ? Maybe they'll wisen up and get rid of the (R) and the (D) , stop with the "Republican" vs. "Democrat" spats , sit down and talk instead of finger pointing . One can only hope...

Socialism in action...CID , why oh why do business need tax money to build new enterprise when they just received one hell of a tax cut to build new enterprise ? It sure looks like the average , every day tax payer won't get a tax break after all ..or , our youth and kids won't

Use logic...18 year old are old enough to join the Armed Forces and defend the Peoples , they can buy anything a 21 year old can buy . Mental illness does not end at 21 years of age either . 11 teens die each day texting while driving , should cell phones be banned , should the age for driver's license be raised to 21 years old ?

Profanity...trying to stop profanity is the effort of a feeble mind trying to express itself . If you have never used profanity in your life , raise your hand . It's politically correct all over again , what one may consider profanity , another may not .

Rick & OJ: IMO, just a freak act of nature similar to having Snowflakes here in SEMO in 50 degree weather.

Congress has been side stepping the DACA problem ever since Obama started it.

Maybe George was expressing his frustration at the absolute mess in the USA!

    Wise Up

It is a shame that these kids are being used as puppets for a political agenda.

    Use Logic

    Point well made.

    Profanity

Most seem to use it when frustrated or angry. It is part of Freedom Of Speech. The Politically Correct seem to want to take away others rights as they deem fit. Son Of A Biscuit Eater!

It is crazy that the same ones screaming about guns and Children being murdered are the same ones who condone murder by abortion.

As I have always said "To intentionally stop a human heart from beating is murder". Plain and simple!

Once that heart starts beating anything done to stop it is premeditated murder.
