Speak Out: A Lesson From One Of The Most Oppressive Business Climates In The World

James,

I am afraid that the result is going to be widespread violence. When the common man realizes that everything that he has spent his entire life believing, defending, and working for is a sham; then the **** will hit the fan.

Greece is small fries (no pun intended) when compared to California.

No doubt that we are living in historic times. I hope that I live long enough to see what the academics have to say.

  • What really happened was the United States was tilted 45 degrees towards the West coast and all the nuts rolled into California. Those left in Washington DC, managed to hang on for dear life and remained.

  • Maybe California can trade Obama some votes in exchange for some of their neighbor's water to help green things up.

  • California just got some water from Obama in exchange for two votes from valley congressmen for health care. The smelt suddenly became secondary to Obamacare.

How things change in the world of socialism.

  • James,

As a long time resident of CA, Governor Gray Davis and the radically liberal Assembly sent this state down the road to where it is today. We still have this radical liberal Assembly. Even Arnold has not been able to overcome their lunacy in spending.

Davis knowingly lied through his teeth before his re-election about the size and scope of California's $34.6 billion budget deficit.

As soon as Election Day had passed, Gray Davis suddenly declared a serious budget crisis existed. Then he started advocating massive tax increases plus cuts in public safety and education to balance the state's budget.

Gray Davis was responsible for a tax on Internet commerce for any company with a retail outlet in California.

Questions were raised over whether campaign contributions affected the Davis' Administration change of heart in allowing cancer causing dioxin to be dumped into our water ways.

  • It is beyond belief what Davis and the Assembly destroyed economically with their avid support of the unions such as SEIU and the Prison Guards Unions.

  • Good article, James!

  • They are probably broke because all the Californians(?) are to busy buying up cheap land in the midwest and not spending it in Cali.

  • HaD, only one Dodge mini van per coast? Don't you think that might be a mite bit overly generous in your estimate of transportation needs?

  • Voyager,

I believe he is saying that there is no more than one vanload of righteous people on each coast. To be sure, there may even be a few open seats.

Those who look back will be turned into salt, of course.

  • Sorry, I hope didn't misread your meaning. It's so hard to recognize sarcasm in type. ;)

  • Sarcasm is my speciality I've been told. I've even been called a "liar" by some who lacked the intelligence to recognize true wit and brillliance.

You, on the other hand, quickly do as does HaD. It makes the day worthwhile by getting up in the morning.

  • From what I hear today, maybe some votes were traded for water. After the dog food controller took away the dog food and the dogs were starved, the kennell masters licked the boots of the dog food controller to get enough dog food to keep the dogs suffering a while longer. One of the kennell masters wanted to hold out for a full meal for the dogs, but was ignored because he had licked the boots of the previous dog food master.
