Speak Out: Missouri Constitution Vote 2016

Rick, When I read how these are presented I suspect a little bias in the way they are worded.

  • Kinda wondering what is so wrong or otherwise missing from the Missouri Constitution after almost 200 years as to bring on the urgency for five amendments presented in one election...?

And, what happened to number five?

Even with the political hip-waders on, still about to be overcome by the rapidly-rising level of crap.

  • Rick, It's all for the children going into government regulated education at an earlier age. The goal is to surrender your children to the state at even earlier ages while claiming it a good thing.

  • My suggestions on Amendments and Proposition as follows:

    1. No - Conservation Dept buying too much land and taxing off tax roles.

    2. Yes - Take away some of the resource money for the dirt digging and mud slinging.

    3. No - Will do nothing to stop smoking and little to help anything else.

    4. Yes - Stop expanding the move to tax labor based items.

    A(5). No - Seee #3 above.

    6. Yes - We Photo ID for many things today. Something as important as voting should have every effort made to insure honesty and not one vote is stolen.

  • That one tenth of one percent makes me wonder why our stated tax rate ends with a half percent.

  • I agreed with all of Wheels choices except #1. Once a government program is so entrenched, ending the one tenth of a percent funding will not end it. They will just vote it from general revenue and spend much more. The tax rate as it stands seems to me to be a budget they are used to and a limit so to speak.

  • Old John,

You very likely could be correct on that. What the citizens want has no bearing on what the bureaucrats will do.
