Winter Weather Advisory issued for tonight
We're still in line for 1-2 inches of snow at Cape Girardeau tonight. Thanks to temperatures in the 60s this afternoon, it will be hard for the snow to accumulate on the warm ground.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 3 AM to 10 AM tonight. Although the computer models have not had a good handle on this system, the consensus of the models shows that we have a 40% chance of receiving at least 1 inch (with slightly better chances over the Ozarks).
The odds of receiving at least 2 inches have dropped to 20%, and the odds of 4 inches are almost non-existent.
Still, if we were to receive a solid inch of snow, that would be larger than any "snowstorm" we've had at Cape Girardeau all season.
We're expected to dip into the mid 20s both tonight and Saturday night, which will be a real downer for early spring flowers. On the plus side, we should start to see actual spring weather -- finally -- by the middle of next week as temperatures reach the 60s and 70s and stay there for awhile.
