Weather or Not
In this blog, weather junkies on the Southeast Missourian staff talk about (what else?) the weather. Give us your observations, folk wisdom and Farmers Almanac tales -- it's a weather free for all.
Oh look, we now have an Excessive Heat Warning

The National Weather Service has officially confirmed what is obvious by stepping outside: it's ridiculously humid outside. We're now under an Excessive Heat Warning -- worse than a Heat Advisory -- for the rest of this afternoon and Tuesday.
As I write this, the temperature at the Cape Girardeau airport is 92°F, which wouldn't be so bad except that the humidity is an oppressive 68%, yielding a heat index of 111. Tomorrow afternoon could bring even higher numbers.
The good news is that the cold front should bring some relief starting on Wednesday. Although the air temperature will only drop slightly, the humidity will be dramatically lower. In addition, the drier air mass should put a stop to the rainy weather for several days.
