River forecast drops slightly, but rain forecast increases

Good news: The latest river stage for Cape Girardeau now shows a slightly lower crest of 43.5 ft. on Thursday.

Bad news: We're in store for more heavy rain, with the 7-day projections painting us in the red zone for 4 inches.

The best chances of rain are Wednesday through Friday, but every day through at least next Monday has some kind of chance. Here's the current breakdown:

Tuesday - 20%

Tuesday night - 50%

Wednesday - 80%

Wednesday night - 80%

Thursday - 70%

Thursday night - 50%

Friday - 60%

Friday night - 40%

Saturday (July 4th) - 50%

Saturday night - 50%

Sunday - 50%

Sunday night - 50%

Monday - 40%
