Light snow possible, then warmer weather on the way
A weak system could bring a narrow band of snow tonight as it zips past. Yesterday, the computer models weren't showing much, but they've been trending stronger with this system, and now even suggest that minor accumulations are possible.
The exact location of the snow band varies between computer model runs, so it could miss Cape to the north or south. Or it could deliver squat: the latest forecast dicussion from NWS Paducah does caution that "there is considerable dry air in the low-levels to overcome to get any tangible snowfall to ground."
Nevertheless, a recent run of the GFS model, as shown on twisterdata.com, does paint 1+ inch snow depths just south of Cape:
Other model runs aren't quite as bullish, but still show a realistic chance of getting a dusting.
Any snowfall will be short lived, as temperatures are expected to climb into the 40s by Thursday and perhaps the 50s by Saturday. Next week should remain warm, with the 6-10 Day Outlook leaning toward above-average temperatures for most of the country.
