Oh no, it's the "I" wordPosted Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 5:40 PM
The one word you don't want to hear from a meteorologist is "interesting." The latest forecast discussion from the NWS in Paducah says that a "very interesting scenario" is setting up for Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Another phrase that you don't want to see is "significant and widespread." That's how they are describing the potential outbreak of severe thunderstorms tomorrow.
Southeast Missouri is squarely in the bullseye for a Moderate Risk of severe thunderstorms tomorrow with tornadoes, high wind, and large hail all possible.
It appears that our storms tomorrow won't be quite as bad as the storms currently producing tornadoes in Oklahoma, an area designated as a High Risk.
KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City has been showing amazing live video coverage of the twisters.
