The score so far
We seem to be trapped in a weather pattern featuring below-average temperatures and a never-ending train of weather systems. Except for the big snow on Jan. 29, we've only received minor accumulations from the rest of the systems. The storms have either been weaker than expected, or tracked too far to the north or south.
Here's the breakdown:
Name Date Approx. snowfall at Cape
Akira Jan. 6 1½ inches
Bumblebee Man Jan. 29 7½ inches
Comic Book Guy Feb. 5 ½ inch
Disco Stu Feb. 8 1 inch
Eddie Feb. 14 ½ inch
The pattern is expected to continue this week with a brief warm-up on Thursday followed by another system Friday and again on Sunday. At this point both weathermakers appear to be fairly weak systems that could bring rain or snow. If they do develop into anything, the next names on the list are "Fat Tony" and "Groundskeeper Willie".
