  • Yeah, we need somethin' a LOT more predictable than a dartboard. Maybe a shootin' match board, with about 3-ounces of #12-birdshot? Or maybe axe-throwing? You know, something with "impact"!

(C'mon---you can't let Brad "skunk" you with his BREAD-index! Man, I still wish I'd thought of that one first!)

As for me? I'm gonna stick with my "Weather-Rock". And if I'm on the road at the time, I'll just rely on my Mobile Weather Center. It has the same operational characteristics of the Weather-Rock, 'cept it's on wheels, and therefore, well---mobile!

And it can hold a LOT of bread...!

  • A shooting match board? We could call it the Dick Cheney Weather Forecast System(tm)!

I have bad news about the forecast. Next Thursday marks the one year anniversary of the Mother Of All Ice Storms, and it looks like we

might see an encore of some kind.

This morning's discussion from Springfield MO mentions the possibility of an ice storm next week, suggesting that most of the precip (for Southwest Missouri) would fall as freezing rain or sleet, changing to snow later on. The Paducah discussion is more vague, but they also warn of the chance of a "significant wintry event" late next week. Of course, this could all change in a hurry: we could get unseasonable warmth with a tornado outbreak instead. Or nothing at all.

  • You all provide the board I'll get my shotgun and shells and have a big ol time. Maybe if we have the MOAIS again we can get some kind of a tourist attraction for getting three in a row. Sounds like a good topic for the city to apply for a grant to research.

  • Yeah, ya' gotta love that term "significant-winter-event"!(Have you noticed in the "off-season" it simply replaces WINTER, with WEATHER?)

Every time I hear that, I have to fight the urge to look out the window for the brass-band an' elephants, with a pair of clowns totin' a banner reading "Come-One, Come-All, To The BIGGEST Mess On Earth!"

And THEN I have a cup of coffee, and thankfully wake-up...!
