Uh oh, I just saw the "A" word
The "A" word is accumulation -- snow accumulation.
A weak system is expected to arrive on Friday, bringing a chance for light snow Friday night and lingering into Saturday. With temperatures expected in the upper 20s and low 30s, this time it will be cold enough for all snow. None of this rain-changing-to-sleet nonsense that we had earlier this month.
This morning's forecast discussion from the National Weather Service in Paducah uses the magical phrase, "Some snow accumulation may be possible." Peeking at the weather charts for the weekend, it looks like there might be enough moisture available to see one or two inches of the white stuff.
It's a little too early to make predictions about a White Christmas, but it does appear that next week will be abnormally cold, thanks to plenty of cold air arriving from the North Pole. If nothing else, it will feel a lot like Christmas.
