Snowstorm hits London, heat wave in our future

  • I never knew it rarely snows in London. Where's Mary Poppins when you need her? She could fix that.

  • Mid 50s temps sound good but I don't know if I'd describe them as a heatwave when the average temp for the weekend is 46 degrees. The average high by the end of the month is a balmy 53 degrees. Spring is on the way.

  • I know it's been tough for you folks back there with the ice storm that makes our hurricanes look like a breeze (pardon the pun).

    But I want you to know that I woke up in West Palm Beach, FL, this morning to find ice on the birdbath.

    That's not as bad as the all-time record of low of 24F on January 19, 1977, which is when we had measurable snowfall, but it's still chilly for here.

    I feel sorry for tourists who came down here to thaw out.
