  • That would be like the BCS of redistricting Nil :)

I like that idea also. The whole point is that the practice of gerrymandering while an American tradition, has nothing to do with representation and everything to do with ensuring that the duopoly parties maintain power. The average voter doesn't have much of an opinion, but the average politician is very interested.

Constitutionally I don't think that there would be anything preventing a mathmatic formula, or a group of morning coffee drinkers down at Denny's from determining district boundaries, so long as the results are based on census data.

I still believe that we need to rid ourselves of the "435" magic number. If anything we are under represented.

  • Triple the size of th house of reps. Cut the staff and pay by 1/3rd.

Might also consider getting rid of congressional districts. Every congress critter runs state wide. Every voter gets 8 votes. They can vote for 8 different republicans. Or vote 8 times for one (3rd party) candidate.

But the house of reps need to be more responsive.

  • I like the idea of a NOTA vote which would actually count as one negative vote to be split up evenly among all the candidates. Example: I vote NOTA for US Rep MO 8. All 3 candidates would lose 1/3 of a vote.
