FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rick Vandeven for US Representative campaign news...
Rick Vandeven, Libertarian Party candidate for US Representative (MO-8), is proud to have received an "A" rating from the Gun Owner's of America. This is his second "A" rating from the organization. The GOA is a non-profit lobbying organization formed in 1975 to preserve and defend the Second Amendment rights of gun owners. Rick agrees with the GOA's position that firearms ownership is a freedom issue.
The campaign also announces the following public appearances by Rick Vandeven in October...
Rick will attend a candidate forum sponsored by the Rolla Tea Party on October 11. He participated in a Rolla Tea Party forum in 2010 also, and looks forward to meeting with the freedom minded independents on the west side of the district again.
On October 20, Rick will march in the Southeast Missouri State Homecoming Parade with members of the SE Missouri State Campus Libertarians, the Cape County LP, and the Scott County LP.
On October 24, Rick will participate in a candidate forum in Ste. Genevieve sponsored by the Ste. Genevieve Herald. At this time he is the only candidate in the race who is committed to appear at what may be the only candidate forum or debate sponsored by a member of the media this year.
On October 25, Rick will take questions from the members of the West Plains Campaign for Liberty group. Rick was a member of C4L after the 2008 Ron Paul campaign before joining the Libertarian Party in 2010.

I was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., in 1972, and grew up in the Chaffee area where I still reside with my lovely wife and three beautiful and talented daughters. I have been employed in the paper industry for the past 14 years and am a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. In my spare time I support my local parochial school, listen to and perform music, and read. This is my second run for U.S. Congress as the Libertarian Party candidate. In 2010 I was endorsed by the Boston Tea Party and received an "A" rating from the Gun Owners of America. Since my last campaign I supported the opposition to the smoking ban in Cape Girardeau, gathered signatures for the Show-Me Cannabis initiative, was elected to the Missouri State Libertarian Party Executive Committee, and recently won the Champion of Freedom Award. I hope that my candidacy helps to advance the cause of individual liberty. I welcome your questions and comments. Thank you for reading!
