Is this the bottom of the next generation iPhone from Apple? Only time will tell...
With all the rumors and predictions floating around about the new iPhone, I thought I would share my two cents. I was 100 percent spot on with my iPhone 4s predictions...let's see how I do this time.
|*||First off, I don't think it will be called the iPhone 5. I think it will be simply called "The New iPhone" Apple has been headed this direction with product naming. The third generation iPad is just called The New iPad and not the iPad3. Plus this is actually the sixth iPhone to be released.|
|*||Bigger screen. I say 4" this time over the current 3.5" LCD. A little bigger but not too big. Some of the newer smartphones on the market have screens so big that they are inconvenient to use and carry.|
|*||Thinner and slightly longer. Advances in smaller components will make it thinner, and the bigger screen will cause the unit to be a bit longer than before.|
|*||1 piece milled metal uni-body design. Very strong and durable design, like iPad and Macbook Pro laptops.|
|*||New dock connector. This prospect has ruffled a few feathers, but after a decade of the 30 pin dock connector on Apple devices it's time for something better, faster, and more reliable. It has served us well and I believe Apple will have an adapter that will allow the new iPhone to be used with devices that have the 30 pin dock connector. I predict the new dock connector will have 8 pins and will plug in without having to worry about a top and bottom like the current 30 pin.|
|*||Cases. Apple gave us the minimalist Bumper Case for the iPhone 4 &4s, and this time around I think they will have at least two options to choose from. Companies like Griffin and Otterbox have been very successful in the case market...Apple will follow suit.|
|*||4G LTE. Yes, it's time. The third generation iPad has it already.|
|*||Headphone jack moved from the top to the bottom. The jack was located on top in the first five generations.|
So there is my short Technosaurus prediction list. This list may be wrong or right, but when the latest iPhone hits selves sometime this Fall it will be a huge hit. Wall Street is also banking on this new smartphone with Apple stock priced at almost $670 a share right now. For now we will just have to sit and wait.
