JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. --Rep. Kathryn Swan, (R-Cape Girardeau) was recognized at the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry Annual Awards Banquet as one of 18 legislators who voted 100 percent of the time with the organization's agenda in the 2014 Legislative Session. Eleven state representatives and seven senators were recognized.
Voting performance was based upon critical votes that were weighed on their importance to Missouri employers. Bills were selected based upon the Chamber's legislative priorities which are set by policy councils comprised of business owners and executives across the state. Votes included education, taxation, workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, economic development, tort reform, employment law, labor and environmental policy.
Swan has received the award for the past two legislative sessions and was recognized as the 2013 Freshman Legislator of the Year at last year's awards dinner.
Rep. Swan was recently re-elected to a second term in the Missouri House of Representatives.
