If you're anything like me, you weren't paying much attention to the news over the weekend. Instead, I was out in Wayne County camping and swimming at one of my favorite local spots, Hidden Valley Campground. So I wasn't at home Sunday to read the story Peg McNichol wrote on the work of the county's road and bridge advisory board. There's plenty of interesting stuff here about the county's work to improve roads since the sales tax was passed, and some of the problems that have arisen along the way. I suggest you check it out. And hang with us, because Peg will be visiting the county's road and bridge advisory board meeting tonight to report on what happens there.
Chaffee's ongoing water trouble A week later, and customers of the Chaffee municipal water supply are still under a boil water order. You might remember that last week the Missouri Department of Natural Resources put the town under a boil water order after finding too little chlorine — a chemical that kills water-borne pathogens — in the water system. One week has passed, and the boil water order still persists. Chaffee's City Council meets tonight, too. But Peg can't be in two places at once, so we're sending a photographer with a video camera to see what happens there. You can bet the water will be a key topic of conversation. Matthew Piazzi performs tonight on "America's Got Talent" For the "America's Got Talent" fans out there: our favorite New Yorker Matthew Piazzi will perform tonight in what should be a funny act that combines celebrity impersonations with music. You can find more information on Piazzi, Neal E. Boyd and "America's Got Talent" on our "America's Voice" website. The show starts at 7 p.m. on NBC, and voting by Internet and phone starts at the end of the show at 9 p.m. |
