Coming up in Cape
Hello, everyone!
It's been awhile since my last entry, but this one's a doozy.
First off, I want to remind everyone that there's a new SE Live in the Friday/Saturday edition of the Southeast Missourian. We'll be talking about the music scene, "The Campaign," and information on how you can win some tickets to a great upcoming festival. Don't miss it!
Moving on ...
Even though we are far from the end of summer, the fall season of Tunes at Twilight begins next week (August 17). It looks like a pretty entertaining lineup, and it kicks off with Jimmy Davis.
Davis is a Memphis folk singer/songwriter. He has been named Premier Male Vocalist five times by the Memphis Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. His songs have been recorded by Martina McBride, Restless Heart, Joy White and many others. FYI: We'll have a complete season breakdown in the August 17 SE Live. For now, you can visit Old Town Cape for more about Tunes at Twilight.
Also in the world of local music, The Venue in Cape Girardeau has just released info for its 2nd annual "Blast from the Past Party" on August 18. The event will feature a reunion of legendary Southeast Missouri rock band Promise to Burn, and 80s rockers Blind Lion. Don't forget to get your torn jean jacket and Bon Jovi wig ready; 80s attire is encouraged, and prizes will be awarded. For more info, visit Promise to Burn's Facebook page.
Finally, I want to remind any and all area entertainers and entertainment venues to submit your events to SemoEvents. I wanna know about what you've got going on, whether it's live music, theatre, art, or anything else done in the name of fun.
Have a great weekend, and don't forget to visit us on Facebook and Twitter.
