Hopefully, everyone enjoyed the abbreviated work week. And now the weekend is here again (whoo hoo!).
First Friday with the Arts is tomorrow, June 1, and there will be some beautiful work on display at Cape Girardeau galleries. We feature one particular artist, Rochelle Steffen, in the new SE Live this week. Those who love variety will really dig Steffen's pieces; she has everything from mangled toys to sculptures made from Mississippi River driftwood. Check her out at the Arts Council tomorrow night or anytime in June.
If you're in the mood for some fun and games, Summerfest, the annual carnival in Scott City, begins tonight with the opening of rides, games and an illusionist performing. Friday and Saturday bring the big time entertainment, however, with pageants, live music, talent shows and fireworks. Be sure to check out SE Live tomorrow for a breakdown of the festival's weekend events.
And speaking of SE Live, there's a different look to the weekly entertainment section beginning with tomorrow's issue. It's not a huge change, but we hope you like the added information and design. Here at SE Live, we'll continue to dedicate ourselves to improving arts and entertainment coverage in the area.
On that note, we want to hear what you think needs coverage. Hear a good band? See a good show? Let us know about it! We're always interested in what interests you. Email me suggestions at email@example.com, or contact me through our Facebook page (facebook.com/seliveevents) and on twitter (@selive).
Have a great weekend, and say "hi" if you see me out!
