We have a three day weekend upon us, folks. That's right ... more fun, more BBQ, more relaxation, more everything.
And the events aren't limited to our area, of course. CNN recently named its 7 Best Memorial Day Weekend Getaways, and St. Louis' Bluesweek Festival was ranked among the nation's best.
The festival features acts such as Bobby Rush, Shemekia Copeland, Marquise Knox, Big George Brock, Boo Boo Davis and Kelley Hunt, and is free.
STL Bluesweek will also have the Bluesweek Awards at 7:30 p.m. today at BB's Jazz Blues and Soups, followed by the music festival beginning Friday at Soldiers Memorial.
But we all know fuel prices can be restricting, and to that end check out tomorrow's SE Live for a list of local fun. Most of the events are free and family oriented.
So have a great extended weekend, but please make sure you do it safely. And just a reminder to those who always think they can get away with drinking and driving, police will be out in force this weekend.
Finally, I'd like to thank our soldiers for everything they do for us. If you see one of these heroes this weekend (or anytime), show your appreciation.
