First off, an update: the SE Live section in Friday's paper is being moved to page 11 this week, so remember to look for it there.
Moving on ...
There will be a showing of the documentary "Give A Damn" tomorrow, April 26, at 6 p.m. in the Rose Theater at Southeast Missouri State University. A question and answer session with the filmmakers -- Dan Parris, Rob Lehr and David Peterka -- will follow.
The documentary follows the three as they leave St. Louis in 2009 and travel across the U.S., Africa, and Europe, living off of a paltry $1.25 a day (I spend more than that in gas every day). The filmmakers wanted to find out what makes people "give a damn;" where our feelings come from and the experience that comes with them.
Friday evening at Buckner's will also be interesting, as the "Deep Fried Comedy Review" takes place in the Riverview Room (dinner show is at 7:30 p.m., evening show is at 9:45 p.m.). Seven different local comedians will perform, along with music from Mad Attack. Admission is $5, and the laughter is free.
