Sahara's Law
So many people remember Sahara Aldridge.
She was bright, she loved sports, and she loved Rick Springfield.
In November 2007, the Cape Girardeau 13-year-old died after a battle with a brainstem glioma, a malignant brain tumor with no cure.
A run/walk to benefit pediatric brain tumor research is held locally each year in her honor. But if legislation sponsored by Sen. Wayne Wallingford, R-Cape Girardeau, makes it through this year, there will soon be another way to support research for cures, and possibly help children like Sahara Aldridge.
Sahara's Law would allow taxpayers in Missouri to donate a minimum of $1 from their tax refund to benefit the CureSearch for Children's Cancer.
Wallingford recently wrote about the bill here:

On Wednesday, the bill was referred to a committee.
