The Life of Christians and Caucasians in an Ever-Changing America.
Faith and family were once considered the moral foundation of America. But not surprisingly, a Pew Research study conducted earlier this year showed the Christian percentage of our population has dropped nearly 10% since the last survey eight years ago. One of the troubling findings was the fact that millennials are leaving the religious fold, with more than one-third of these young adults saying they're not affiliated with any faith.
To publicly profess your Christianity, would be to throw yourself into a group described as "evangelical Christians," and possibly to be labeled as an extremist in today's ever-evolving cultural society.
In April of 2013, it was discovered that soldiers in the U.S. military were told in an official training briefing that evangelical Christians are the No. 1 extremist threat to America--ahead of groups like al-Qaida, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, KKK, the Nation of Islam, and also included--Catholicism. That's why I posted the picture with this story. It's so unbelievable, that without proof, I would be declared a ranting Christian bigot. The Pentagon, of course, declared it was an isolated incident, and the anti-Christian materials have since been destroyed.
For years now, religious symbols have been removed from public display on the property of government buildings and even in public schools, where restrictions on prayer have been instituted in many school settings, such as before a ballgame or at school ceremonies. It's becoming more uncommon to see Nativity scenes once prevalent in local communities during the Christmas holidays. Today's young people have less and less exposure to all religions and faiths, and it's all done in the name of fairness and religious tolerance.
I would be willing to wager that our young people have never been told that near the top of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. is a display of Moses and the Ten Commandments. Even in the Supreme Court courtroom the Ten Commandments are engraved on the entrance doors and on the wall right above where the judges sit. There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington. What will freedom from religion activists do next?--call for sandblasting of all those Judeo-Christian symbols that were once a proud integral part of the founding of our country?
Christians in today's society are quickly demonized if they outwardly declare their positions on issues such as being pro-life and believing that traditional marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. Once again, in a nation that's supposed to embrace freedom of religion, those Christians are sometimes branded as torch-bearing mobs that want to deny women of their reproductive rights, and are demonic haters of the LBGT community.
When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Christian-owned franchise, Hobby Lobby, I don't recall the White House displaying a lighted cross on the front lawn, but when the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage, the rainbow colors of the LBGT movement were vividly displayed across the front of the White House. The silent political statement was a slap in the face to millions of evangelical Christians who, once again, were made to feel like second class citizens by their own president.
Another group under scrutiny in American society--Caucasians. Just being born white in our new America is now considered a liability. All across high school and college campuses our children are being taught they were born with a white privilege that gives them an upper hand in life. They're constantly being reminded about the guilt of their white supremacy and how it led to the slaughter of Native American Indians and the enslavement of blacks.
In 2015, if your skin color is not brown, black, or olive-colored, you're more than likely born with inherited biases toward those who look differently. In the past couple of years, that mentality has led to the "black lives matter" movement and the constant media drumbeat that white cops are trolling the streets of America in their squad cars, just waiting for a chance to gun down innocent black citizens.
We don't remember the names, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu. They were the two New York policemen executed as they sat in their squad car this past December. But every American is familiar with the names Treyvon Martin and Michael Brown, because they were two young blacks killed in controversial shootings by white men. Their names were made famous not only by President Obama, but by progressive pundits, politicians and the mainstream media. The two shooters in both cases were both found innocent by our justice system, but to racial activists, Treyvon and Michael remain victims of racial bias.
Since the indictment of six police officers in Baltimore, police departments throughout the country are now concerned about making mistakes that may lead to criminal prosecutions. Rather than being proactive on the front line of America's most dangerous neighborhoods, they're now being overly cautious for fear of being indicted by local prosecuting attorneys. As a result, the homicide rates are surging across the nation--by 33% or more in St. Louis, New Orleans, and Baltimore, just to mention a few.
We're witnessing the dawn of a dangerous new era. We have the Islamic State and ISIS committing genocide throughout the Middle East. If we travel back in time to over 900 years ago, we would see the al-Murabit caliphs, and the al-Muwahhids, beheading tens of thousands of Christians and Muslim opponents. The barbaric executions in the modern world have us trapped in a time warp of brutality and evil, and it's just now unfolding on America's homeland.
But even then, some of the nation's leaders try to downplay the genocidal acts of Islamic fundamentalists throughout the world. At this year's National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama compared ISIS to historical actions from centuries ago. "And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ."
In the coming year, as the 2016 presidential election draws closer, the emphasis by Hillary Clinton and the progressives will center on gender, race, income inequality, and the need to change the behavior of biased and intolerant citizens. Faith and family will not make the priority list.
Just in case you don't remember, during the 2012 Democratic Convention, when it was discovered the political platform of the Democrat Party had erased all mentions of the word God, all hell broke loose after the media aired the story.
The following day at the convention, the Democratic delegates were asked to take a vocal vote to reinstate the word God in their platform, and as shocking as it might seem, the crowd booed loudly--all caught on camera. Because a change in the platform requires a two-thirds majority vote, the vote had to be conducted three times amidst the dissent, but finally God was accepted in the Democrat's platform.
It's not surprising then, when recent undercover Planned Parenthood videos showing a doctor bragging on her professional ability to crush an unborn fetus's upper and lower body sections, while still preserving its vital organs and tissues for future sale, I realized there's a new darkness enveloping our society. The abortion doctor is free in our country to make her comments...............but only because her mother allowed her to be born.
Slowly but surely, many people in America are losing touch with their inner humanity and compassion for their fellow human beings. If this desensitization of American citizens continues, our children and grandchildren are surely doomed.
