"Dead Cops...Now!"--Anarchy Comes to America
Two weekends ago, protesters in New York City were heard chanting, "What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!"
Thousands of protesters ended their day-long march blocking a portion of the Brooklyn Bridge, and two NYPD officers were assaulted. Among the peaceful demonstrators, who were exercising their first amendment rights, were professional agitators, race-baiters, and anti-government protesters, who only wanted to promote violence.
One of the arrested protestors, charged with assaulting the two police officers, was a college professor with a bag of hammers. He had just posted "F--- the police" on Adult Mag, an online publication.
New York Mayor, Bill de Blasio, has allowed these demonstrators to basically run free, with no permits for demonstrating. Policemen were helpless, as earlier that day, protesters conducted "die-ins" at major stores--Apple and Macys--disrupting Christmas shopping for innocent civilians and bringing commerce to a halt.
And now, one week later, protests have escalated nationwide. When you have national leaders, such as President Obama and our Attorney General promoting these "free speech" responses to two isolated cases, Michael Brown and Eric Garner, protesters feel emboldened to see how far they can go.
Yesterday, thousands of protesters converged in the Mall of America rotunda in Minnesota, once again, disrupting shoppers and store owners, all chanting in unison, "Black lives matter!"
Mall representatives said in a written statement, "It's clear from their actions that these political activists were more concerned about making a political statement and creating a media event than they were about the safety of others, who came to the Mall of America for an afternoon of shopping and family entertainment."
And unfortunately, the racial rhetoric that has permeated the nation since the events in Ferguson, Missouri, has now resulted in the ambush and assassination of two police officers in New York City this weekend.
Ismaaiyl Brimsley, 28, yesterday posted on Instagram, "I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let's take two of theirs." He would later approach the passenger window of a marked police car in Brooklyn, and execute Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, shooting both officers in the head.
"Black lives Matter," may be the rallying cry, but this racial movement just killed two innocent Americans, an Asian and a Latino. Ramos, an active church member, was married with a 13-year-old-son, and had another child in college. Mr. Liu, who had been on the police force for only seven years, had just gotten married two months ago.
Patrick Lynch, president of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association of New York, said, "That blood on the hands, starts at the steps of City Hall." When Mayor Bill de Blasio came to the hospital to meet with the grieving families of the dead policemen, New York City police officers turned their backs on the mayor, as he walked down the hospital hallway.
"What do we want? Dead cops!" For some anarchists and race baiters, they got what they wanted.
We can only pray the violence ends soon, or we may see future weekends turn into the 1960's and 70's, when rioting, anarchists, and race-baiters ruled the day.
