  • I would agree, this is an excellent list of possible parks

  • I am a descendant of the Bollinger who built the mill in Sedgewickville. I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard several years ago that it was bought by a Bollinger, and efforts were being made to make it a State Park. If true they were obviously unsuccessful, but here's hoping.

  • What a great list. This would be a solid feature story in the print Southeast Missourian as well. Maybe others could submit photos of their recommended "next" state park online. James, your photos and comments have me wanting to travel off the beaten path. Good stuff.

  • Great ideas! However, there is a gap in the levees at the Block Hole. Good luck trying to get Little River to do anything for the benefit of the northern end, as all their board members are from the south. Their main office isn't even located in the territory it serves...

  • I agree with your ten historical park sites. My favorite is the Three Notch Road. The public should be made aware of this important site. Even with my interest in historical Se Mo roads, it took me years to find it. They also should be aware of the Kingshighway between Commerce and Scott City , the Military Road across Bollinger County, the Plank Road between St Genevieve and Pilot Knob etc
