Wow! How time flies! It seems like it was not that long ago when I posted on this topic last year. Here we are again. Time to get those back to school supplies and set the alarm clocks!
I wanted to take the time to give everyone the links to the homework chart and homework planner that I posted last year around this time. Thanks to everyone who took the time to send me feedback regarding the chart and planner. I have heard several success stories from parents who have consistently used them.
Here is the Homework Chart for younger children (early to middle Elementary years). It is designed to encourage kids to finish their work daily. Each night parents should make time to sit down with the child and go over any assignments the child may have had. If all of the work is finished, parents can praise the child and then put a sticker on the Homework Chart.
The Homework Planner is a great tool for older children to keep track of assignments. Many schools have something similar in use but just in case your school doesn't have one, here is the link. Parents should remember to spend some time each evening going over the planner to show the child they are going to be involved and will consistently check to see if daily assignments are completed.
Thanks to everyone who has followed the blog over the past year! I wish everyone the best of luck during the coming school year.
