Pets take to the air
Frontier Airlines said today it will now let customers carry small pets on board, the Associated Press reported.
However, it may cost more than some of the fares the airline charges its human passengers.
Passengers may now bring along their small dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or small birds for $75 each way.
As the owner of a three-year-old Chihuahua named Max, I am thrilled to hear this news!
It is always so stressful to determine who will care for him while I'm away. To me it's well worth the cost to bring him along for a ride in the skies, even if it costs more for his ticket than mine. I think most pet-lovers would agree.
This is a smart business move for Frontier, recognizing there is a sizable market of people, like me, who won't spare any expense when it comes to their four-legged friends. (Max even has a Coach collar!)
Frontier is following the lead of Southwest Airlines, another low-fare carrier, which began allowing customers to bring small pets on board last year.
