The combination of Hurricane Isaac and the Labor Day holiday weekend is sending gas prices soaring.
Gas in the Cape Girardeau area has jumped 20 cents in the past two days at many local stations.
Currently, Missouri's average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline is $3.72. Missouri's highest average price was recorded in July 2008 at $3.94, according to AAA.
Chicago currently has the highest gas price in the country right now at $4.37.
