In this economy, everyone is looking for a deal.
The Southeast Missourian's new Today's Deal website may have a deal that's perfect for you.
It's similar to the popular website, Groupon.com, where if a certain number of people sign up for the "deal-of-the-day" offered, then the deal becomes available to all.
The next deal on the Today's Deal website, www.semissourian.com/deals, will be available tomorrow. Local businesses are offering deep discounts on different products or services every Tuesday and Thursday.
The next deal isn't announced in advance, but you can sign up on the website for email alerts to let you know when deals are available.
Some deals have a maximum number that can be sold, so you may need to act quickly.
Tuesday's deal, $20 worth of food and drinks at Imo's Pizza, was limited to 100 people and sold out in just a few hours. Other offers in the future may be unlimited.
The Tuesday deal is available from Tuesday at 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, or until it is sold out, whichever comes first. The Thursday deal is available Thursday at 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Friday, or until it is sold out, whichever comes first.
The Today's Deal website is being done in conjunction with the Cape Girardeau and Jackson chambers of commerce.
"Already, deals are lined up for the next several weeks. Businesses are excited to try something innovative to acquire new customers. And, for consumers, it's a great way to try a product, service or store they might not have experienced before," said Gera LeGrand, sales and development manager at the Southeast Missourian.
