ReStore to relocate
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is moving to a new facility, allowing it to nearly double in size.
The ReStore, previously located on North Middle Street in downtown Cape Girardeau, will relocate to 2365 Rust Avenue.
The store will remain closed until it reopens at its new location at noon Thursday, May 5.
The ReStore has been open for three years and its business has continued to grow each year, said Walt Wildman, store manager. A larger building was needed to allow for future growth and provide a more organized layout for shoppers.
During its reopening weekend, the store will be open expanded hours, Thursday, May 5, and Friday, May 6, from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A grand opening celebration is planned for Saturday, May 7, with hotdogs, popcorn, and drinks available.
Proceeds from the ReStore support the construction of local Habitat for Humanity homes.
To donate items to the ReStore, people may call 334-9728 or bring items to the store.
Realtors Thomas M. Meyer, on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, and Tom Kelsey of Lorimont Place, Ltd., on behalf of the Gary W. Rust Trust, negotiated the building lease.
