All in a day's work....Posted Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 3:56 PM
As a business reporter, I love writing about new jobs!
When I am out and about, I am always being stopped by people who have read a recent story about a company planning to expand or locate here.
They ask the same question every time: "How can I apply for those jobs?"
Since coming to The Southeast Missourian in March, I've written about new jobs coming at Gilster-Mary Lee, Sabreliner, TG Missouri, BioKyowa, Spartech, Big River Telephone, both Southeast Hospital and Saint Francis Medical Center, and Isle of Capri.
This morning, I covered a news conference announcing another 135 new jobs for downtown Cape Girardeau. Here's the link to read more about a new dental and vision cooperative planned on Broadway: http://www.semissourian.com/story/168633...
Tonight, I'm off to the city planning and zoning commission as Isle of Capri presents its preliminary development plan and a rezoning request for its 23-acre site. I've already been approached by several people asking me who at Isle of Capri they can send their resume to since the Missouri Gaming Commission's approved the project last week.
Southeast Missouri is hungry for new jobs and I so enjoy sharing the news about them with all of you.
More new jobs announcements coming as two companies consider the former Thorngate building. Hoping to get official word on that development before the end of the year. Here's what we know so far: http://www.semissourian.com/story/168292...
