Veterans Day DealsPosted Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 11:28 AM
Today we celebrate all those who have given of themselves for the benefit of our country through service in the U.S. armed forces.
I recently had the opportunity to ride along for a portion of the Honor Tour, which provides free trips to Washington D.C. for area World War II veterans to tour war memorials there.
While they are in their 80's, they recalled their military experiences like it was yesterday.
Several local businesses have special promotions going on today to honor veterans as well.
Texas Roadhouse -- all veterans or current military, in uniform, or with military identification, eat free at Texas Roadhouse today.
Applebee's -- active duty military and veterans with proof of military service eat free at Applebee's today
Outback Steakhouse - veterans free Bloomin' Onion and 1 beverage.
Lowes - military members receive a 10 percent discount today.
These are the ones I am aware of, but if you know of other special deals for veterans today, please post them below.
And I want to give a special Veterans Day salute to my favorite veteran, my Dad, Tim Miller, who served in the U.S. Air Force. Thanks Dad and to all our veterans and current military members!
