Tweet Up June 23 at Broadway BooksPosted Thursday, June 17, 2010, at 10:36 AM
Southeast Missouri Twitter users will unite at the first Cape Girardeau TweetUp Wednesday, June 23, at 5:30 p.m. at Broadway Books & Roasting.
Anyone who is a Twitter user or is interested in learning more about this social media application is welcome to attend.
"The TweetUp is a great way to find new followers who live in Southeast Missouri as well as meet new folks to grow your own following," said event organizer Stephanie Lynch, director of public relations and marketing at the Cape Girardeau Convention & Visitors Bureau (@VisitCape).
You can follow me on Twitter for business news updates @semissourianbiz. I'll be attending this event as well.
Twitter is a great way to stay up-to-date on what's going on in our community and keep in touch with what your friends are up to too!
At the TweetUp there will be a large screen projection of all tweets during the meeting using the #CapeGTweetUp tag and t-shirt giveaways as well.
Old Town Cape is providing name tags at the TweetUp and participants will be asked to wear their Twitter names on them.
"The idea is to mingle and discuss w/one another how we use social media both professionally and personally and to make new friends and connections," said Toni Eftink, special projects coordinator at Old Town Cape (@OldTownCape).
