Would you buy diapers online?

Procter & Gamble Co. launched a new website today where consumers can buy its products direct.

The Associated Press reported the new "eStore" is up and running for the general public after months of testing. The website features P&G's household brands including Tide detergent, Pampers diapers, and Olay skin cream.

P&G insists the venture's main goal is to learn more about online shopping, and not to compete with stores and online retailers that also sell its products, the AP reported.

The site offers $5 flat-rate shipping and also digital coupons.

  • I would and do buy our babies diapers online. Actually we get them from Amazon for a whole lot cheaper. Amazon has the pampers swaddlers with dry max on sale for $40.49, but you can sign up for their subscribe and save for free and get another 15% off (making it $34.42) and it's always free shipping with that. Plus, in the Size 1-2 box, you get 100 more diapers! Comes out to 14 cents/diaper, compared to p&g's site which is 26 cents/diaper after shipping. I didn't figure in any tax to that either. Way overpriced on the pgestore.

  • I would consider buying if it were a savings but since I can get them in the store at that price why pay for shipping when I am going to the store anyway?
