9:48 a.m.

Today is the day the county seals the park land sale. Presiding Commissioners Gerald Jones goes to the closing later today. He just suggested passing a resolution saying the proceeds can't be used for, say, the purchase of a road grader. Second District commissioner Jay Purcell said that was a nice thought but not binding, as language embedded in the sale contract might have been. They grumbled back and forth and let the matter drop. But commission assistant Donna Oldham did get the resolution language for their review.

Pat Wissman, former candidate for 1st District commissioner Larry Bock's seat is here and the county Auditor, David Ludwig and his two deputies have just arrived to review the commission budget. This hearing will last 45 minutes (or so).
