Ready for the next election?

You may be ... and the candidates may be ... but the people who worked a marathon day on Tuesday may be ready for a nap.

Those working in the county clerks' offices were up and about way before sunrise, to get their assigned posts by 5 a.m. and set up voting booths, check equipment, etc. After the polls closed, they cleared out all the equipment and played a small but vital role in democracy by bringing the ballots directly to the clerks' offices for counting. And the folks working at the county administration building stick around 'til it's all over, making for one very long day.
