Put an ambulance into service

A quick p.s. to the Chaffee City Council meeting:
The fire department managed to get an ambulance for $800. Lt. Doug Sutterfield said AutoZone in Cape Girardeau donated a complete tuneup. It may also need a new carburetor ($300). But it really needs to be painted. Sutterfield said the department is looking for temporary use -- an estimated two days -- of a building with 9-foot doors and heat. They have the paint, Sutterfield said, and people who know how to do the work. He found a building in Scott City, but would have to rent it for a month, at a cost of $150. If you know someone with a better deal, call Chaffee City Hall at 887-3558 and let Sutterfield know how to get in touch. Tech schools will paint it for free as a project..
And you have to have a paint booth to paint...not just 9 foot doors and a warm place...

Is the North Scott County Ambulance Service in Chaffee no longer operating?
We (CFD) would like to clarify that the vehicle is question is to be used as a First Responder vehicle, NOT AN AMBULANCE. We are doing this IN ADDITION to NSCAD service. We provide only First Responder service to help out North Scott. NSCAD is not dropping service in the City of Chaffee or anywhere else.
