Breaking Bridges

Posted Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 8:56 PM

Hundreds of students from throughout southeast Missouri participated in the sixth annual MoDOT Bridge Building competition. Students were given a bridge kit including 20 pieces of balsa wood, a spool of thread, and a bottle of glue and had to design and construct the most efficient model bridge - the lightest bridge to carry the greatest load. Prizes were awarded to the top 10 individual bridge building winners. Schools with three or more entries were eligible for cash prizes
