Science Scholarship Encourages Underprivileged Kids to Study SciencePosted Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 11:13 PM
Two southern Illinois students earn the Jason Lindsey Outstanding Science Student Scholarship.
"In times like these and the many families that struggle to make college possible for their children, it is a relief to know that there are people like you willing to donate both money and time to see that many underprivileged kids get a chance at getting a higher education," says Ethan Helton. The scholarship goes to a Southeast Missouri State University science major with a 3.0 Grade Point Average, and financial need, as indicated by the FAFSA. "This scholarship was created to encourage underprivileged students to pursue a degree in science," says Jason Lindsey with Hooked on Science.
