Missouri Department of Conservation to Host Kid's Fishing Night at Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center
The Missouri Department of Conservation's Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will hold a night fishing event for children May 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. "Nature Center at Night" will feature lessons on the basics of fishing and the whole family is invited to the Nature Center's kid's fishing pond to see what kind of monsters will be pulled out in the twilight hours. The overall theme of this event is to encourage families to go fishing and teach kids fishing related skills such as casting. Missouri is home to more than 1.1 million anglers and special events sponsored by the Department of Conservation is one way to get more citizens involved in the outdoors.
Fishing poles will be provided for those who do not own their own, and the event is free for all ages with no registration required. Youth and adult groups are welcome to attend.
