Cape Casino Already Paying Off
I do realize my winnings came at a price. While I was the big winner, my co-worker was the big loser. But that is life. While win-win situations do exist, I think win-lose outcomes are far more common. It is just logical that for every winner, there has to be a loser or more likely, losers. Life is not a T-ball game for 6-year-olds where everyone is a winner even if they never leave the bench. I suppose I should feel guilty that I took money from my co-worker. Perhaps, his children cried themselves to sleep that night in hunger, because daddy didn't bring home food for their table. I know, I should, but I don't. We both accepted the wager in good faith. We're both adults and we both know our personal responsibilities. If the money I gambled meant our cat would go without kibble if I lost, I would not have placed that bet. But I had the money. It was part of my disposable income. I typically spend it eating at restaurants or to go see a movie or rent a video or buy a magazine. Occasionally my wife and I will even visit a casino and spend some there. We do so not expecting to win. Actually, we consider a good visit to break even. "We played for two hours on twenty bucks," we will congratulate ourselves on those occasions. But even when we lose, we have fun. It is entertainment for us. Now in about two years we will be able to enjoy that entertainment without driving 90 minutes or more. I've even created a special fund for my first visit starting with the windfall I squeezed out of my co-worker. I wonder if the dollar will be enough to even get me in the door?
