  • Well, we're all addicted to something or other. Soda ain't so bad compared to some other things for example greazy potato chips or pork rinds.

And then there are thosethings we just don't talk about, at least in polite society. Trouble is ain't nothin' polite anymore. Sad.

  • Coke Zero is good by itself, JC -- it reminds me of Coke from you youth (sugar versus corn syrup?) -- but it is even better with 2 or 3 or 16 squirts of vanilla extract.

So true, Voyager. Secretly, I'm hoping Jerry Springer is getting hard-up for topics and think "Soda Addicts" will make a nice segment.

Perhaps, after my "confession" one of the Rhodes clerks will come screaming out of the audience "You used HOW MANY squirts of vanilla??????!!!!!" and try to bash me over the head with a folding chair. I hear that's considered wholesome entertainment these days....

    Thanks for reading.

  • You can buy the "good old Coke" if you happen to be in an area with a Mexican foods store (or one that caters to a large Mexican clientele. It is made with sugar for the Mexican market (and others) and is sold in the US. Shhhh, don't tell anybody, but I think Fenny's on Independence sells it.

  • I've heard that about Mexican Coke, Slim. I even saw some at Schnuck's (in the Mexican food aisle not the soda aisle.) I was tempted, but it's a bit pricey. Think it was about $2 for a small bottle. Still, I might have to splurge.

  • What's two bucks to relive the good old days once in a while? They really ARE that good, especially iced down for about three hours, accompanied by popcorn cooked in a pot on the stove, and a good old classic '60's spaghetti western.

Fenny's isn't that expensive. (Sorry Denny!)

  • I too am addicted to fountain sodas. Although I like mine full strength. None of that diet or zero crap! I often visit the local drive thrus two-three times a day for my fix. What do they put in that stuff???

  • I don't drink a lot of soda, but when I'm in Cape, I do have to get a 64 oz vanilla Coke. Sadly (or maybe it's a good thing), we don't have drive through convenence stores here. We do have lots of Mexican grocery stores, so I'll have to look for Coke with sugar.

  • Slim, you're just trying to make me thirsty, aren't you? Congratulations, it's working! Good link, by the way.
