This photograph of trees forming a natural arch over Highway 61 about half way between Cape Girardeau and Jackson, along the Ten Mile Garden, was published in the Southeast Missourian on Aug. 10, 1960. The picture was part of a new magazine, “Spotlighting Missouri,” which also featured the historical story of Cape Girardeau. It was noted the magazine was sent out “by the thousands.”
The magazine was distributed through all motels of the Missouri Motel Association, all AAA offices in Missouri and three in Illinois, Hertz Car Rentals in Missouri, Chambers of Commerce in Missouri's 10 largest cities and all seat positions of Ozark Airlines.
