Fred Lynch retired in 2018 after capturing images for the Southeast Missourian since 1975, in that time moving from black-and-white to color, from film to digital and to video. The blog title is a nod to an earlier era of news photography and the 4x5 Speed Graphic: It's more important to be there for the shot than to worry about technical details.

Conoco - Morgan Oak & Sprigg St.

The Conoco service station at 401 S. Sprigg St. in Cape Girardeau is shown in this undated photo. It was located at the southwest corner of the intersection.

City directories of 1951 and 1956 list the owner as Walter L. Isaac.

The 1958 directory lists the business as Barks Conoco Service Station.

The 1960 directory lists Koch's Conoco Service Station.
