Aug. 28, 1958 Southeast Missourian

Cape Girardeau Police Lt. Glenn W. Volkerding hands a new sign to L.A. Barnett to install at the intersection of Boulevard and Independence in Cape Girardeau. As of today, motorists will be allowed to turn right on a red light after first making a stop. The move is to be studied by the police department and if proved successful at this corner, it will be put into effect at the other five traffic signal controls in the city. (G.D. Fronabarger photo)
